Jesmond

  • NZ 254653
  • 27/06/1864 Opened
  • 23/01/1978 Closed. A new underground station was built for Metro trains.
  • 2009 The station building is now a pub. The station house has been replaced with a mock signal box  which houses an Indian Restaurant, with an ex GNR Teak Dining Car providing additional accomodation. The platforms are still in situ and the track, now single, is used occasionally to transfer empty Metro stock from Manors to the depot at Gosforth.
