Tweedmouth to Kelso Branch
Double track line of 23.5 miles.
- 1845 Newcastle & Berwick Railway Act includes powers to build a branch from Tweedmouth to Kelso.
- 1849 Line opens to Sprouston on 27 July.
- 1851 Line reaches Kelso on June 1, creating an end on junction with the NBR St Boswells to Kelso Branch.
- 1861 Twizell station opened.
- 1887 Alnwick to Coldstream Branch opens.
- 1948 Following the August floods East Coast Main Line trains diverted over branch for 3 months.
- 1955 By July only Coldstream and Norham Stations remain open for passengers.
- 1962 Goods service withdrawn at Twizel.
- 1964 Passenger service completely withdrawn on 15 June
- 1965 Line closed on 29 March.
