Alston Branch
As a part of the South Tyne Trail the whole of the route from Haltwhistle to Alston is now open as a railway path and cycleway, apart from a short section at the former Lambley station,. A guide (pdf) to the trail can be downloaded here
Border Counties
The Kielder Forest Border Railway Trail runs between Kielder and Deadwater. Full details can be found here
Kelso Branch

Newcastle & Carlisle Railway

Riverside Branch
Much of the Riverside Branch has now been converted into a footpath and it forms part of both the C2C cycle route (National Cycle Network route 72) and the Hadrian's Wall National Trail.
